Professional Resonator Tone from Masters of the Craft

Atop the resonator food chain sits the mighty Recording King Professional Squareneck, a lovingly crafted resonator built for incredible playability with stylish looks to match. The Professional Squareneck leaves no detail to chance. Its warm, resonant wood body is crafted from premium cuts of mahogany and adorned with a hand-spun resonator cone crafted from aluminum. Beyond quality core construction, each piece of this resonator features premium hardware (Grover tuners, a bone nut, ebony/maple saddle, and interior spruce bracing) for guaranteed top-notch tone. With its square-shouldered body design, the Professional Squareneck has a clarity and depth that’s perfect for use in a band onstage or in the studio. If you’re looking to infuse your music with the sounds of the early 20th century without sacrificing comfort or thousands of dollars.

Built for comfort

Those who’ve been around the resonator block a time or two know the struggle: the resonator's old-fashioned looks get used as an excuse for poor playability. Recording King knows better, and thinks you deserve better, too. The Professional Roundneck Resonator is built for comfort and style with a shapely square-shouldered body that’s infinitely portable yet more focused and has cleaner tone than, say, a round-shouldered dreadnought. The neck joint terminates at the 12th fret, a feature that softens the string feel for buttery smooth action. Meanwhile, a comfortable gloss-finished mahogany neck and premium rosewood fingerboard ensures smooth-flowing fretting up and down. This neck is “squareneck” with a flat profile, meaning its meant to be played lap-style with a slide. If you prefer a resonator that’s played upright, Recording King also offers this same instrument in a roundneck style.

Mahogany delivers tight tonal focus!

Premium cuts of stout mahogany form the bulk of the Professional Squareneck Resonator. Mahogany sides, back, and top yield tight tonal focus with knife-like midrange and excellent sustain that slide-style players are sure to appreciate. A gloss finish is the chef’s kiss on the mahogany body, a touch that protects your resonator and shows off plenty of gorgeous wood grain. Inside sits additional wood bracing carved from Sitka spruce that guarantees a balanced response with better volume and projection than a resonator without any bracing. And of course, beyond wood, the Professional Squareneck features a stylish hand-spun spider resonator cone made from only the finest aluminum for the authentic, pure resonator tone that Recording King is so known for.
